Mince Meat Triangles
INGREDIENTS
500g lean mince
1 tsp minced garlic
2tsp olive oil
1 tbls chicken stock powder
200ml tin crushed tomatoes ( I use mutti)
1/3 cup tomato sauce
4 sheets Puff pastry
1 egg
Sesame seeds ( optional )
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Thaw puff pastry sheets.
In a pot sauté garlic in olive oil.
Add meat and cook until mince is brown. Make sure you separate the mince as best you can ( You can use a fork but my favourite gadget to do this is the hackit @hackitaustralia).
Add chicken stock and continue to cook mince.
Add the canned tomatoes.
Add the tomato sauce. Mix well.
Bring to the boil. Then simmer for ~ 50 min.
Let it cool completely. ( I often cook the mince the day before and keep in the fridge overnight)
Cut puff pastry into 4 equal squares.
Put a heaped dessert spoon of mince in the centre of each square.
Fold over to form a triangle making sure it is sealed properly using a fork.
Place on baking tray.
Coat with egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
Bake until golden.
Serve with a fresh salad.
