Mince Meat Triangles

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g lean mince

  • 1 tsp minced garlic

  • 2tsp olive oil

  • 1 tbls chicken stock powder

  • 200ml tin crushed tomatoes ( I use mutti)

  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce

  • 4 sheets Puff pastry

  • 1 egg

  • Sesame seeds ( optional )

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

  2. Thaw puff pastry sheets.

  3. In a pot sauté garlic in olive oil.

  4. Add meat and cook until mince is brown. Make sure you separate the mince as best you can ( You can use a fork but my favourite gadget to do this is the hackit @hackitaustralia).

  5. Add chicken stock and continue to cook mince.

  6. Add the canned tomatoes.

  7. Add the tomato sauce. Mix well.

  8. Bring to the boil. Then simmer for ~ 50 min.

  9. Let it cool completely. ( I often cook the mince the day before and keep in the fridge overnight)

  10. Cut puff pastry into 4 equal squares.

  11. Put a heaped dessert spoon of mince in the centre of each square.

  12. Fold over to form a triangle making sure it is sealed properly using a fork.

  13. Place on baking tray.

  14. Coat with egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

  15. Bake until golden.

  16. Serve with a fresh salad.
