Roasted Za'atar Almonds

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 cups almonds, raw

  • 2 Tbls olive oil

  • 1 tsp Maldon salt

  • 1/4 cup za’atar spice

  • 2 tsp maple syrup

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius

  2. Place raw almonds in a bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl whisk egg white until frothy. 

  4. Combine egg white, oil, salt, Za’atar spice and maple syrup. 

  5. Pour mixture over almonds making sure they are all coated. 

  6. Spread nuts onto a baking tray and bake for ~ 10- 15 min ( keep an eye on them so they do not burn). 

  7. Turn off oven and let the almonds cool in the oven with the door slightly open. 

  8. Place in an airtight container. 


  1. Note: you can use other types of nuts. These are perfect for a snack or to sprinkle over a salad. 2 Tbls is the recommended serving size.
